True Love or Into the Mind of a Cat?

In the Mind of Lucie
In the Mind of Lucie

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “A Moment in Time.”

If one would dare to ask, would you rather have a companion, True Love as it were, or the opportunity to shape shift into a cat and thereby experience the world through a cats’s eyes;   I might  choose perpetual loneliness  in exchange for the gift of shape shifting.   Who is Lucie?

Look at her.  So intent but on what?  I can’t remember the last time, I paid that much attention to anything.   What is she thinking?   Does she ponder one thought at a time, or does she multi-task? Is she thinking simultaneously  I am hungry; what’s that smell; who is out there; or does she experience life as one emotion after another?  What is it like to purr? Is it like a mini orgasm?

As my day progresses, I find myself looking at Lucie,  fascinated by her responses. Sometimes her movements are so tiny, they are almost imperceptible, and yet, with each movement there is a drastic change of focus.  If she looks at me as she is looking above, but then puts her ears back, I move back – quickly!

Lucie what are  you thinking as you stare out into space?

Starting over as a senior, nothing is safe, change is supreme, new thought spiritual belief system, love to learn, laugh, drink wine, explore, teach, and make things happen. Negatives - think too much, too much planning.

And neither should we forget that cats are gods. I used to watch my cat, Graham, and strive to be more like him …. independent yet secretive, a connoisseurs of comfort, allusive and demanding, curious, playful and whimsical. You know …. everything I know I learned from my cat.
